Doubling as both a tough work truck and a comfortable daily driver, the 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 is a full-size pickup that combines first-class comforts with best-in-class performance in both two- and four-door designs.
Four Powerful Engines
In addition to optional four-wheel drive, nine trim levels are available for this edition of the Silverado 1500, as well as four engines among them. Most lower trims have a 2.7-liter I-4 that delivers 310 horsepower and a best-in-class torque output of 430 pound-feet of torque. The second option, found in High Country and LTZ trim levels, is a 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horses and 383 pound-feet of torque.
The third engine, which is available for select upper trims, is a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 that produces 460 pound-feet of torque and comes with Dynamic Fuel Management technology. The fourth engine, a Duramax turbo-diesel 3.0-liter I-6, combines 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque with excellent fuel efficiency. This engine and the 6.2-liter V8 both lend the vehicle its maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds when fully equipped.
Comfortable Yet Rugged
With three cab sizes available (Regular, Crew, and Double), you have both one- and two-row interiors to choose from, and those with two rows have a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. Up front, a 40/20/40 split-folding bench seat can be found in lower trims, while many upper trims have power-adjustable bucket seats with both heating and ventilation functions. Heated rear outboard seats come in many of these trims as well, as does a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Cab-mounted cargo area lamps come standard for working with cargo at night, and you can secure everything with the 12 included cargo tie-downs. Tackling challenges is made easy with available Rainsense automatic wipers, heated power outside mirrors, all-terrain tires, fog lamps, and, on select upper trims, skid plates over the truck’s front end, fuel tank, transfer case, and rear differential for extra ruggedness.
Next-Level Tech and Safety
As for technology, the included Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System comes with a 7-inch diagonal color touchscreen in lower trims, while a premium version with a large 13.4-inch diagonal touchscreen and Google built-in services comes in select upper trims. The available full-color head-up display displays key driving info on the windshield, and while lower trims have USB ports and a 12-volt powerpoint for charging, many upper ones have wireless charging and a 120-volt outlet as well.
While driving in traffic, standard driver-assist features like Lane Departure Warning, the Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, and Automatic Emergency Braking can help you avoid collisions. Front Pedestrian Braking and the HD Rear Vision Camera also come standard.
